The biggest source of evidence to support this date was unveiled by Blizzard on July 11, as the new Gameplay Guides video showed the official end date for Season 4 being October 9.

Blizzard had already stated that a Diablo 4 season is meant to last at least three months, and having a pause of two weeks in-between would line up to the seasonal rotation present in Reaper of Souls. That being said, an alternate date for Season 4 could be October 12, if the images from the developer livestream are meant to be taken literally. The new patch rolls out on July 18, but Season of the Malignant in Diablo 4 only starts two  Diablo IV Gold days after, which implies that an October 12 launch for Season 4 is very much possible.

Though its theme is currently unknown, players can expect improvements to the currently broken Resistance attribute in Diablo 4, as one of the biggest shortcomings in the game seem to be related to Diablo 4's itemization and Sorcerer class, and Resistances should help fix the issue to a certain degree. Moreover, gems will become crafted materials in Season 4, which will help players save a lot of space in their personal inventory and stash. Whether Season 4 launches on October 12 or October 26, fans will have almost 12 weeks to enjoy Season of the Malignant.
